GoYin is a new drink that is gaining alot of popularity here in Utah. I’m not sure how popular it is getting nationwide but i’m sure they are doing a pretty good job. Their website however is not! Recently I received a phone call from a friend asking me if I could pull up the goyin.com website. I could not. This is the message I received:

This site requires Flash Player 9. Please upgrade here.

The flash design on their website requires that you have Flash Player 9 on your website.  This may seem like a simple fix, but many people will not spend the time to upgrade. Many people don’t even know what this means. You can bet that Goyin.com is losing hundreds of visitors a day to their website because of this one simple mistake that they have made. Flash may be intriguing and exciting, but at the end of the day it’s not worth it. Goyin.com is missing out on hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars of business each day because of this one mistake.

When designing websites, I assume that my visitors have NO experience with the web. I make my websites “dumb proof”. Notice that their major competitors Tahitian Noni and Xango do not give you these problems when you go to visit their websites.
