Try doing a search using Google for a ‘Utah County Dentist’ and take a close look at the results you get. What you will find is interesting. I bring this up because I was simply searching on Google for a new dentist here in Utah County. I did not find very much useful information. You can look at that in one of two ways. You can either choose to look at the glass “half full or half empty”. Depending on your ‘vantage point’ (I want to see this movie by the way). The following is a list of the 10 url’s that are returned on the first page:
I have crossed out the url’s that are not specific to the search term query. A closer look at these url’s shows us that only 3 of the 10 returned results are actually dentists websites!!! The rest are just junk. Directories, landing pages and blah blah blah. Are you telling me that their are only 3 Dentists in Utah County? What we have here is a PROBLEM FOR THE SEARCHER and an OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SEO. This is a rather generic term, but it shows the infancy in which are state of Utah is in it’s search results. Page 2 is even worse, which shows us that nobody is even trying here:
This information I am giving you here is extremely revealing. If a generic term like ‘Utah County Dentist’ is not able to provide very relevant search results, it says that there are countless more niche terms that are also suffering the same problem. This is a major problem if live in Utah County like I do, and are looking for a new dentist.
